ADHD MANAGEMENT

ADHD?

Approximately 4% of adults live with a neurological difference called ADHD (at times ADD). In short, it impacts their abilities to regulate motivation, energy, emotions and attention, and to manage time, organisation and structure.

Such difficulties with self-regulation and executive functioning may impact the daily experience of adults living with ADHD, at home, at university or at work. It may be very confusing, and often impact one's self-confidence, performance, and well-being - all the more for people who have never been diagnosed or don’t understand why they feel different from others. Many develop self-blame, anxiety and low self-esteem affecting their well-being.

ADHD has actually both challenging & bright sides. It may lead individuals to face endless procrastination and daily forgetfulness issues… or to demonstrate impressive creativity and problem-solving skills. Indeed many adults with ADHD associate their unique strengths and achievements to this different brain-wiring!

STARTING YOUR JOURNEY...

Both research studies and clinical work have outlined the importance of diagnosis and awareness in the lives of youth and adults with ADHD. Being identified enables them to have access to relevant support and guidance, and opens new ways to overcome their difficulties.

Understanding, accepting and learning to manage ADHD is a rewarding journey of self-development. With the right mindset and resources, it may lead youth and adults with ADHD to improve tremendously their performance and well-being.

To facilitate this journey, Colourfully provides psycho-education workshops in small groups, as well as individual sessions of ADHD coaching and/or psychotherapy.
